Opening of the Wild Hill

We are beyond excited to announce that our beautiful Wild Hill property is now open for guests.

After years of dreaming and 18 months of building we opened our doors on the 1st of August 2024.  Set on the edge of the Enonkishu Conservancy, on the Kileleoni Hill, in the Northern Mara Ecosystem, the Wild Hill is an architectural masterpiece, with living grass roofs, indigenous landscaping, blending into the landscape. All of our water is harvested on-site, and it is run on 100% solar power. Much of the lodge has been built using up-cycled material, including fence posts taken down from the nearby newly re-wilded and formed Mbokishu Conservancy, following on from the success of the neighbouring Enonkishu Conservancy.

The Wild Hill is accessed through an ancient door that opens onto a dramatic tunnel built into the hill. Exansive and jaw dropping views lead you through the main area.

Despite building through one of the most intense rainy seasons on record, our dedicated team accomplished this challenge with a can-do attitude, kept on track and now we are open!

As the Collection in the Wild has grown, we have brought the soul and magic from House in the Wild, and are extending the conservation and community efforts to the Wild Hill. We continue to be driven by our three promises; to restore wildlife habitats, improve livelihoods, and to provide extraordinary experiences.

Our wonderful new managers are settled and in place and they bring extensive luxury experience to our Wild Family, having worked in in luxury hospitality for several years.

Dave Steyn is the property manager, with years of experience in remote luxury hospitality, also a skilled sommelier who shares our passion for conservation.

Wellness Director, Solveig Gevers is a holistic wellness advocate and integrative health practitioner, a qualified homeopath, certified yoga and Qi Gong teacher, a skilled bodyworker, and adept energy healer.

We have put a lot of thought and into our unique wellness offering, with all of our wellness therapists having successfully completed an intensive personalized training course in aromatherapy, deep tissue, and various wellness practices.

The Wild Wellness Spa is accessed through an enchanting forest in a glade of the hill, and it features a sauna, cold plunge, treatment room and wood fired hot tub.

The property has two fully stocked bars and a fire pit built into the deck, offering top seats to the greatest show on earth; the sunset over the Mara Serengeti plains.

Our bedroom suites feature beautiful living areas with log burners, a coffee station with treats, a bathtub, indoor and outdoor showers with vast views, and a deck that draws you outside.

The main area has dramatic high ceilings and a dining room with a fully stocked wine cellar, perfect for our sommelier to introduce exciting wines paired with food from our exceptional kitchens. Our culinary offerings are authentic and sustainably sourced, with options for family-style sharing, tapas around the fire, interactive live cooking on hot coals in the outdoor boma area, or formal five-course tasting menus at our grand dining table by the wine cellar.

There are several spaces to relax, including the living area by the fire, the outdoor deck, the pool lounge, and the home cinema room. Enjoy games like billiards, giant Jenga on the deck, cornhole, or pickleball on our court. We also offer e-bikes for gentle rides around the area.

Game drives are available either pottering around to see the nocturnal creatures on the Wild Hill, or dropping down onto the plains below. Watch rare Mountain reedbuck or colobus monkeys from the deck and use the spotting scope to see elephants on the plains. We imagine guests when here, will want to stay on site, and soak up the views and enjoy all of the activities the property has to offer. It could be the perfect place to wind down after a safari, watching it all unfold below.

We offer walks with elders to learn about our ancestors and guests have the chance to walk to the ancient petroglyph Bao game carved into the rock, foraging medicinal herbs along the way that can be used in bespoke oils for aromatherapy treatments.

We have a busy August ahead and are so excited and inspired by all that the Wild Hill has to offer.
