Uganda is witnessing a remarkable revival of its endangered rhino and elephant populations driven by intensified conservation efforts. Recent reports show the northern white and eastern black rhino numbers reaching 32, while elephant populations have nearly tripled to 7,975 within the nation's reserves.

The resurgence extends beyond rhinos and elephants, with buffalo numbers increasing and mountain gorilla populations stabilising.

The thriving wildlife is boosting eco-tourism, generating vital conservation funds and economic opportunities for local communities. While challenges like habitat loss remain, Uganda's commitment to environmental stewardship offers hope for preserving biodiversity.
